Got a gift certificate for a massage from this place but then they went out of business soon after. If anybody knows of any way to contact the owner let me know.

I came here for a massage. I needed some work on my hips/calves/feet.
The massage itself was technically competent, but not remarkable in any good ways. The massage therapist didn't speak English. His response to almost everything I said (including "You're digging your nails into my back") was "OK". When I asked if he spoke English, his response was "tiny small". This made it very hard to direct him to what I needed, or fix anything that wasn't comfortable. When we was working at stretching my toes, I specifically asked him to not stretch the pinkie toe due to an old injury. He said "OK" and then proceed to stretch all my toes including the pinkie, which hurt. Probably the first time in my life when I've been relieved that a massage was over.
It would have been a two-star review if it hadn't been for the front-desk attitude. Afterwards, the front desk manager David asked how I had liked it. Sadly this was completely insincere, since when I complained that it hadn't been that great due to the therapist's lack of English, his only response was "He's a qualified massage therapist. Do you want to leave a tip?" (This was also the first time in my life when I've not left a tip for a massage ...) They basically didn't care about my concerns at all, despite me trying to raise them further and being told "Have a nice day".
Update: the salon called me, and gave me a 50% refund. So I'm bumping back up to a two-star review.

Got my hair colored and cut. I have to say this is a great discovery. I hate getting my hair done but the team here did such a great and reassuring job.
Their service is second to none. Amazing!
Great great service and really trust the staff here with my hair.
Janet came in today and is incredible. She told me all about the Grammys and how stars come in here.
5-star service! Highly recommended.

First and foremost, I'd like to make sure that it's noted that the 1-star is strictly for the experience the owners provided.
I received a facial and it was fine - but the uncomfortable, awkward and borderline rude treatment before and after the service is enough to make me never go back.
I'm a 38 year old man, with tattoos and honestly probably don't look like the type who gets facials but I do. I also have a decent job too - which allows me to afford an occasional pampering - and shouldn't be treated different because I'm not what they assume I should look like.

Wow! I was treated like a Queen! The hospitality is phenomenal. I came early and was politely advised to either wait in the salon or have breakfast inside the Biltmore cafe. I ordered a hot chocolate. A few minutes passed, and the salon manager came to the cafe notifying me of the hairdresser's arrival.
The salon has an adjoining door connecting with the hotel. Dinora was incredibly professional and has a warm demeanor. I wish I had found her one year ago!
As a professional, Dinora knows how to reassure the client about being comfortable and confident in trying new hair colors. There was a display of dyed hair samples and we both chose based on the most appealing look for me.
The staff never hesitated to inquire if I wanted a beverage to drink or a magazine to read while the time passed.
I was educated on how to use heat protective oils on my hair. The salon recommended the product "Mixed Chicks" which is now my favorite item at the moment. I will definitely return to this salon and of course request Dinora.

Myself and a friend were attending a masquerade ball at the Biltmore this weekend, and had booked in for hair and make-up at Visage beforehand. Oh. My. Goodness. We both felt like a million dollars - the make-up artist was fabulous! I wanted something rather theatrical and it was everything I hoped and more - all night people were coming up to me to say how fantastic my make-up was! And the hair styling was spectacular too - I will be recommending to anyone I know travelling to LA for events (sadly I am based in Boston but I will be back!).
All I can say is THANK YOU to the team at Visage for helping to make it such a magical night. Highly recommended!

So this is an update review.... After the damage last time...I was highly disappointed and decided to talk to them...The owner Janet and I talked and at first I felt like instead of listening she was more argumentive... Working as Assistant manager & having a different way of dealing with clients, I thought it was an attitude tone...But after she made a point that she do want customer satisfaction...decided to give them another try.
I was debating in what to expect if I was making a mistake and wondering if they can fix the damage done last time or make it worse.... I had my doubts but my business customer satisfaction side decided to give them 1 more try... Glad I did... Now I can say haircut and deep conditioning done Right!!! #lovemycurls #myhairstillfeelsoft #softhair... I waited till my hair is completely dry and if I can still feel soft or if it goes like Dr Brown again... Still super soft with curls intact like when I usually get deep conditioning.... Thank you Janet and Joy... Loving my hair again :)... Wish I had time to come back before our Big show....but oh well...better late than never.... Thanks again and sorry for the trouble I caused you didn't meant to insulting but was hurt with first result... Glad i went to try again

My friend and I have come here for manicures and pedicures two years in a row for the Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade Ball. (And I'm sure we'll be back next year, yay!)
Everyone here is super nice. It's kind of pricey for a manicure, but you're in downtown LA, I doubt it's any worse than any other major city downtown salon, and it's attached to a hotel. The convenience it worth it for us.
The first year we came they had a really awesome lady who did massages who worked on our shoulders during the manicure. She was very talented.
Important thing to know - you need to tip cash, even if you're paying with plastic. So make sure you have some cash and that you can get at it without damaging your nails.

They a little of everything here at this Aveda Salon. My friend and I got our nails did before the wedding... manicure was twenty bucks...nothing special.. equipment was clean.. the two women were nice enough and did a thorough job of cleaning our cuticles.
They did a good job eyebrow waxing my friend and she was happy with the results.
In addition to nails they also do massage, hair and facials.
Nails range from 10 (polish change)- 55 (mani and pedi)
If you are staying at the Biltmore this is a convenient spot to get everything done.
