I have been going to West Vibe Salon exclusively for about six years, and there is one solid reason: the people. The team has always been incredibly talented, professional, and, above all, kind. And they consistently deliver fantastic, high-quality results!
Maria is a prime example of the abundance of talent at West Vibe. An excellent stylist, she is also a great listener, truly hearing what her clients want. As basic as this sounds, I’ve found it rare to have a stylist actually listen. After years of stylists doing the exact opposite of what I asked for, I tried West Vibe out of frustration and have stuck with them ever since!
But what truly keeps me coming back is that clients aren’t just clients. We’re treated like friends and family. Yes, it is a professional relationship, but it is much like a family and friend reunion when you walk into the salon.
If you want excellent styling and wonderful people, I strongly recommend giving West Vibe a shot!

First time getting a haircut at West Vibe and I’m so happy I found this salon! I have been looking for a place that has comfortable hair wash sinks and this place was it! My neck did not hurt at all. My stylist was Maria and she gave me the best hair wash and haircut + blow dry ever! Will definitely be coming back here for my next trim or even just for the occasional hair wash & blow dry.

I’ve been getting my hair cut and colored at West Vibe since 2020. I first saw Caesar for an intense color correction from my attempting to highlight my own hair during the pandemic - he did an amazing job correcting my mental breakdown lol. Since Caesar has done an exceptional job consulting coloring services that best match my complexion and maintenance preferences (6+ months). He’s done highlights to solid color, back to highlights, to toning darker, and so on. I’m always so happy with how it turns out and always get compliments on any color change and/or cut. As far as cuts go, he knows how to manage layering and thinning my very thick hair which has a natural wavy texture.
Maria has also helped with highlighting, washing, and styling my hair as well and does an amazing job!
I used to live on the same block as West Vibe and now I’m ~40 min away but I will commute to get my hair done here. There’s no one I trust more to take care of my hair and be honest about what color will look good on me.

While I wish I could give a better review, the results weren’t what was asked for. I initially had black hair and was looking for a medium to dark neutral, cool town brown. I showed example photos to Maria, and she seemed very knowledgeable about the process and assured there would not be brassiness or red tones (which I specifically asked again just before service - $300). Unfortunately that’s exactly what I got. Then an attempt to tone to help, which made it black again. And then another lightening attempt which made it brassy brown again. At that point I was told to wait for natural light the next day and call. I did and it was still brassy so she offered to fix in the earliest availability. Which was great except when I got back to fix, the quoted cost was $245 for products. I said no and she offered to tone again and assured it would tame the brassiness- it did not and made it black again with brassiness. So now I’m back to wear I started and with a tone I absolutely did not want. The photos show the second attempt at fixing, first photo on the way there, and the next two photos after.
UPDATE: the below response from the salon is untrue. In the initial visit, Maria promised no red/warm/brassy tone. She only in the second visit tried to talk me out of the cool neutral brown color I wanted with all this talk of maintenance etc. although I said I would have still done it- without worry of any budget constraint. Except she was then charging another $245 to make it happen. After the original $300 charged.

I’ve spent a long time looking for a stylist that knew how to cut and color curly hair, until I found Maria. I’ve been getting my hair done exclusively by her for the past 6 years, and she and all of West Vibe Salon deliver nothing but the best service! I cannot recommend West Vibe Salon enough! I came all the way from the Virginia-DC area for a short weekend trip to attend a special Navy Commissioning for my uncle's ship, which he served on over 40 years ago. Since it was such a meaningful trip, I decided to incorporate a little self-care with some spa day activities -- and I'm so glad I did!
Booking my appointment online was seamless, and I had no issues securing a spot with Ceaser. From the moment I arrived, the vibe at West Vibe Salon was welcoming and professional. Ceaser is truly an artist! He listened to exactly what I wanted and delivered a cut and color that I absolutely LOVE. I've received so many compliments since my visit, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.
Ceaser's attention to detail and care for his clients are unmatched. He even shared tips for maintaining my highlights and keeping my hair healthy, which I really appreciated.
If you're looking for a salon that offers top-notch service and results, West Vibe Salon is the place to go. I can't wait to come back in December -- this time with my daughter so she can have her own incredible experience!

Maria and Cesar are such wonderful and thoughtful humans and hair artists! My husband finally got cut to his curls this year with custom men’s haircuts from Cesar. So now he isn’t using kitchen scissors to cut his hair at home any more —#bless. And he ACTUALLY loves how his pro haircuts look and makes a point to go back for fresh cuts! I get my hair cut and colored by Maria and she is a kind, empathetic pro! Plus, the design and space layout of West Vibe is indeed a ✨vibe✨!

I will follow Maria wherever she goes. I’ve been going to her for maybe 6 years now and she and the other stylists have always done the most amazing job with my hair. I have long, thick, black hair. For every cut I go in with a variety of photos none looking anything like the other and Maria manages to create a unifying vision out of them. My layers are always outstanding and I am very particular about my layers! The only 2 times I’ve colored my hair was with her and both were stunning. I’m still getting compliments on my second color 2 years later. I love them all at Westvibe. They’re just a solid bunch of outstanding stylists!

This salon is a hidden gem! Carlos was extremely nice, he walked me over my expectations and requirements before getting to work on my hair which made me feel super comfortable. He is a perfectionist and his work is impeccable. 10/10 recommend.

Zara at West Vibe is a GODSEND!! After moving to NYC, I had to find a new hair stylist to keep up with my fake blonde hair and I was SO nervous and picky about finding the right stylist. I wanted a more lived-in look which was more low maintenance, and took a leap and booked an appointment with Zara. Zara completely understood what I was going for and worked her magic. She went above and beyond and has kept my hair looking amazing this past year! Everyone at the salon is funny, kind, and makes you feel so welcome. Thank you so much!!

I will start off that this review is about their business practices and not haircuts. Haircuts are fabulous. West Vibe recently raised their men's haircuts from $50 to $70. They never notified me of these changes. I noticed the change on their website and called in to ask about them. I was reassured that I would be grandfathered in to my original price.
So I was charged $50 a few times until one day I was randomly charged $60. I emailed in and was told "prices are subject to change". Everything would have been fine if they were upfront with everything. There's too many salons in NYC to deal with shady price changes. I was never actually notified of any price changes

I've been coming to her for almost 2 years now. I wanted to go ginger but was scared. She told me what would be best for my hair and made me ginger. Booked a color correction consultation with William online. He was fantastic- professional and friendly. I hadn't had my hair done in 2+ years before coming in here. I had a ton of grey hair and old color that made my hair a bit of a project. William gave me 3 or 4 options to pick from to get to a more normal, natural color.
I went with his recommendation- a custom color. He lifted all the crappy color and melted my roots, creating a nice and natural looking blend. It took him 5 hours (and so much work) but I cant stress how grateful I am for William. I love you William!!!!
The total for all services including a blow dry and Olaplex .. $530. Pretty in line with the rest of Manhattan.

I went to Maria (the owner) for a color correction, and I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my hair color now!
#Story: I have dark ash brown hair on a cool pale skintone; on a whim I went to a popular-rated salon to make my hair strawberry-blonde w/ foil highlights. It turned out looking awful for my skintone (brassy/coppery/pale blonde at bottom), not a good look--so I came to Maria for a color-correction.
#Maria: Maria was so professional and so knowledgable from the free consultation to the actual coloring. She spent nearly an hour w/me on the consultation; she saw the pictures I brought in (brunette shades) and gave me her professional opinion on what tones (cooler/warmer), colors, and shades (darker/lighter) look best on my skintone. This is proof of a true professional --she doesn't just do what's shown in a picture, but she gives you her professional opinion on what tones work for YOU. Yes!!
#Color: She took me from an awful strawberry-blonde to a beautiful neutral light brown color w/ face framing highlights. My color and the highlights are so beautifully blended, that it looks like I was born with it! No stripey highlights here! The "after" photo looks so much better in person (I'm not the best in taking photos) and this is 3rd day hair.
#Styling: Maria does a phenomenal job styling your hair (styling is incl. w/color). The products she used makes the hair so soft, silky, and shiny my hair has never looked healthier. Definitely do the "essential oil" treatment!
# Cost: I did a color-correction, the full process included: Face-framing highlights $250 + Root melt $85 + Essential oil treatment $25 + Blow-dry w/curling iron styling (included) = $360.
Highly recommend her, definitely go to Maria! Totally worth it. I will be back :)
